As mentioned in the previous post, this post is all about bows and crossbows created with the information from The Deadly Spring in Pyramid #3/33. Though some rules can be found in Dungeon Fantasy 1: Adventurers.
Modifiers
Balanced: It works as Balanced from Dungeon Fantasy Chapter Five. CF +4.
Cheap: It works as Cheap from Low-Tech Chapter Five. CF -0.6.
Elven: Elven bows perform as if the archer had +2 to ST. CF +16.
Fine: It works as Fine from Dungeon Fantasy Chapter Five. CF varies.
Ornate: It works as Ornate from Dungeon Fantasy Chapter Five. CF varies.
Poorly Balanced: It works as Cheap from Low-Tech Chapter Five. CF -0.6.

All crossbows are made of steel with straight bow construction, rectangular bow shape, Good bow quality, and 0.08 standard arrow weight.
The choice of wood for the crossbow had some minor impact on cost and weight, but no impact on performance whatsoever. So we are only going to check crossbows that use ash.

Having looked at the full sized crossbows, we also look at the pistol sized crossbows. And steel doesn’t do what is needed there. Nor do we have fiberglass. So we try a few different types of wood.
